Our Story

Every business has a beginning, and ours began in 1978, when Associates Contracting was formed. From 1978 to 1982 we completed the construction of over 2,000 new homes in Dallas/Ft Worth for Fox and Jacobs. Over the next 39 years we performed hurricane restorations in Hawaii, California, and the Gulf States region from Texas to Florida. Currently, Westco Solar and Power Generation maintains offices in DFW, Austin, San Antonio and Destin, FL as we continue to serve our clients from Texas to Florida. We also have operating systems in Maryland, Wisconsin and Arkansas.

Our Channel Partners

Beginning in early 2023 we began forging relationships with companies outside of solar panel and inverter manufacturing. We saw the need to work with firms on the cutting edge of solar control technologies; customer and tech support obligations; renewable energy accounting; AI technologies for battery storage system selection and programing; and most importantly, working with different companies based on the complexity of the design, and project management during and after completion.

Big Solar requires a greater need for solar companies to collaborate with specialty firms to ensure none of the fine details are overlooked and avoid the consequences when they're missed. Our two most important advisors are BakerTilly and STEM.

BakerTilly is our renewable energy taxation and accounting partner. The IRA is complicated, and proper guidance and compliance requirements continue to be released, and revised, on an on-going basis. BakerTilly’s energy, tax and industry specialists can help your organization understand the complexities and how to effectively position your IRA or private funded project to receive and maximize eligible credits.

  • They provide technical expertise to help large organizations understand the credits and identify steps needed to secure the credits at bakertilly.com
  • Determine project eligibility and develop enterprise strategies to leverage IRA opportunities
  • Manage development projects to maximize available credits for 1MW or larger systems under the Prevailing Wage Scale and Apprenticeship projects
  • Advise on how IRA credits align with other aspects of your organization’s capital stack
  • Generate workpaper files to support you investment tax credits claims
  • Provide funding support, tax credit monetization and transfer if applicable

STEM's "also energy" enables a project owner with solar and storage to power local loads even when the PV system is not actively generating power due to the time of day; or due to poor weather conditions. This flexibility further reduces your overall reliance on utility power and can help ensure your long and short-term sustainability goals.

Storage’s ability to “time-shift” solar is key for developers seeking to maximize ROI from solar projects. Storage makes solar dispatchable, enabling it to earn more revenue in wholesale markets. For businesses, solar by itself reduces total costs on a utility bill, while storage reduces expensive demand charges and protects the value of the solar investment against shifting rate structures.
